Biological Illustrations

Room 707 |Silver leaf, acrylic and mineral pigments on canvas 30x30cm 2017

Aesthetic language fills the work. The spirit of Ukiyo-e serves as the foundation and foiling, drawing and block printing are employed as media to simulate a biological landscape. Artificially applied adulterated aesthetics has created spectacular scenery. It makes me wonder about the forms and blending of existence and death in such scenery after visitors are gone.

This work is an attempt to apply the method of “spirit calling” to penetrate the surface of one metaphor after another to explore the truth inside.
