Seashore of Taixi

Room 607|Acrylic 31.5x41cm 2016

This painting depicts 'Dream Beach' located at Taixi. It is a small beach which appears when the tide is out. The chimneys of Formosa Plastics Corp’s sixth naphtha cracker plant have belched smoke next to this beach for many years. The beach is infested by mosquitos. I have to wave away the mosquitos while watching the ocean, trying to prevent them biting. This situation is unlikely to change. My fidgety mood reflects the future of this beach.
